What is your boldest dream?

From early childhood on, so many of us have been taught to blend in and follow the rules.  We’ve been taught it isn’t safe to be true to ourselves, and so we hide our greatest gifts to the point that we’ve forgotten they ever existed.  We’ve been taught that it is selfish to follow our passions and honor our desires, and so we stuff down our dreams and follow the “safe” path before us to the point that we forget what once made us come alive.

And then one day, we become mothers and we begin to question so much of what we thought we knew.  As we hold our babies and watch our children grow, we find ourselves dreaming of the life before them.

 “Who will my child become?  What gifts does she have to share?  How will he change the world?”

In this joy-filled dreaming space, we begin to awaken to our own longings, those dearest of dreams held safely within our hearts.  We long to make a difference.  We long for our lives to be full of meaning.  We long to meet the needs of our families.  We long to transform the world through sharing our gifts, passions, and purpose.

We feel stuck.  Trapped.  Overwhelmed.  Held captive in a version of ourselves, a version of our lives that no longer fits.  We crave something more.

And so we play with possibilities.  We begin to dare to dream a new dream.  We find ourselves wondering, “What if. . . ?”

“What if I could create a business I was passionate about?  What if I could create a business that allowed me to have more time with my kids?  What if I could create the income I want, to give my family the life I dream of?  What if I could build a business that makes a difference?  What if I could use my business to change the world?”

We begin to awaken.  We begin to wonder.  We begin to dream.

Perhaps this longing, this dearest of dreams, is in fact an invitation.  Perhaps you are being called to step forward and shine as only you can.
